After Effects Reading Response
During the reading, my reaction is what do I need to know?
I do not mean this is not important, but what is of importance for me. I could relate about the the coming together of many aspects of visual technology, providing a new way of creating. One aspect I see is the bringing together layers to build a composition based on multiple systems. What really gets me exited is the gaining from the understanding of the workflow of one program, altering your perspective in another workflow in another medium.
The internal programming that is happening to the artist. The workflow of how you see your challenge in creating your vision or project. What is in-between the layers of understanding that allow you to ignite new connections of thought and communication through the coming together of the layers.
The in-between and abstract thoughts that provides you with deeper ideas and cultivating new awarenesses. As when you mindfully work with tangible materials. But something is different in this creation with these softwares, that I feel I am experiencing since this summer in learning front end coding, and adobe suite.
The in-between, is the dimensional aspect of life is what I sense. And the breaking it apart and putting it back together provides a opportunity to question and wonder more as a artist. Or at least for me right now. My experience in seeing a sense of wholeness from systems that allow you to recreate beyond what you see, to a feel, to also a directness of use of language and sound. Its like its own being.
Is that what performance is or multimedia that starts to come alive. or is it something different. Can it be delivered? or only experienced by the artist/user.
If so does it not provide a larger community to expand their thought of understanding of how they see things in reality, because of the form of manipulation they can have on what they see.
Allowing them to recognize perspective of view within?
Allowing internal change to shift within them, without them even noticing?
What will this provide youth who grow up with this technology at a young age, where they can recognize the importance of perspective.
Creativity is the new force in the work force that is being called for because its value of new ways to see things, that was not supported in the past with a societal system of hierarchy.
After affects and its availability to a larger public, to be creative, brings me much hope in technology, that gives a chance for internal adjustment that is logically based. My next thought goes and wonders what if it were to be infused with feeling and ambiance awareness and communication, it brings a new form of possible change. Art has been changing people ever since it started, but no one new until, they researched it. Haha A current system built on justification of the obvious (for some). More reason for more views.
I will leave off with a questions and my point of view.
1.) What was your take on Siri the movie? (The idea of a relationship with technology...)
2.) This story line could of not been developed without the forward thinking of designers who incorporated images and tactile to a little machine.
What drew them to allowing those motions on the smart phones?
3.) In my Digital Media History Class I had presented thoughts / view about how technology affected the protagonist in a positive manner. The movie “Siri” where the protagonist in my eyes got to be rehabilitated himself through a operating system relationship that provided him the needs or experiences of self reflection based on his relationship with Siri. Though images where not a main contributor to the movie, lets say the sound of the voice and manner of adjusting sound to convey a intention or experience as in our typography video examples.
What else do you think sound can go in after affects in providing a connection to something.
My drive of thought comes form what is happening to me right now, as I continue to fuse all my interests to produce something authentic from me. From these simple elements are what make us.
